What I'm Loving Wednesday

Once again, this week I'm linking up with Jamie at This Kind of Love for What I'm Loving Wednesday!

Here's what I'm loving this week:

I'm loving my followers- there's 20 of you now! You all leave such sweet comments, and your support is so encouraging to me. Thanks so much girls!

I'm loving the song "All Over Me" by Josh Turner.
This song has been out for a while and it's a random choice, but it's super sweet and I've found myself listening to it a lot lately!

I'm loving that last year's Senior Ballet Company from my dance studio is having a get together this week! This group of us in particular have been together for years, and some of the girls who just graduated aren't taking summer classes, so it'll be great to all get together before last year's seniors head off to college! We're also handing out the company t-shirts we had made this year- we decided to do pinnies and from what I hear, they look great!

I'm loving the Mint Chocolate Javakula from Seattle's Best. I ordered it this morning at Borders, and it was absolutely TDF. Think part Double Chocolatey Chip Frapp al la Starbucks, part Mint Chocolate chip ice cream. You wouldn't think of Borders as a place for great coffee, but Seattle's Best is pretty fab!

I'm loving the book I'm currently reading, Growing Up Brady, by Barry Williams, aka Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch. Something you might not know about me is that most of my favorite TV shows are at least a decade old- some of these include Beverly Hills 90210, The Cosby Show, The Wonder Years,  and, of course, The Brady Bunch! It's one of the first "older shows" I got into, and I've loved it since I was little. The book talks about Barry Williams' childhood, how he got into showbiz, and what it was like, well, growing up Brady! The book also has summaries of each of the series' 116 episodes, as well as a little bit of commentary on each episode by Barry. It's a great book if you're either a fan of The Brady Bunch, or you just want to see what went into making one of America's most iconic television shows!

I'm loving that I found a green loofah to match my pink shower caddy! (Want to know what's in my caddy? Read it here!) I left my BB&B bag in the car, so this sad little stock photo will have to do!

I'm loving that The Life of a Suburban Princess included my question from her 400th post in her newest post! I asked what advice she had for new bloggers, and her answer was extremely thorough! Go check it out!

What are YOU loving this week?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Today, for the first time ever, I'm linking up with Little Daisy May for
What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm loving my followers- all 13 of you!
Thanks so much for your support and all the sweet comments you girls leave!

I'm loving that I started summer dance classes this week! It's only been two weeks since recitals, but I am so happy to get back to the studio four days a week with all the wonderful girls I dance with! Also, I'm taking jazz class for the first time in almost a year, so I am super excited for that tonight!

I'm loving that my senior portrait proofs will be coming in the mail any day now! I have a really good feeling about how they turned out, and I can't wait to see what they look like!

I'm loving that there is a new episode of Franklin and Bash on tonight! I've been watching it since it first premiered last month and I am totally hooked!

I'm loving that I have an adorable outfit picked out for the 4th of July!

Make sure to go visit Little Daisy May, link up, and let everyone know what you're loving right now!

Back to Blogging!

After all those "Why I've been absent" posts I'm proud to finally say I'm back to blogging! Phew, it's been awhile. With the school year coming to an end (and not slowing down much in the process), I just needed a break from all commitments! But now it is Summer, and I'm SO excited to get back to regular posts. So, without further adieu, here is the final installment in my (sad) string of "update" posts.

The weekend before I finished school, my dance studio held its annual June recitals. It's a weekend long event, with 3 shows and no time for much else. Normally, I absolutely love recitals. But this year, the venue's air conditioning conveniently conked out right before our first show! Needless to say, it was a sweaty weekend.
One of my favorite pieces that we performed was a ballet number en pointe to "Grease Lightning"!

The last week of school dragged by, but finally, Summer came!

My friend M and I met up after school on the last day for lunch, and ended up spending the afternoon with her family at her grandparents' house. She has a huge family with lots of little cousins running around, which is so fun for me, since my family is itty bitty, and I am the absolute youngest! That night, we went out for a movie and some shopping. We wanted to see "Bridesmaids" but, embarrisngly, even though I'm almost 18, I couldn't get in without ID! (I don't yet have my drivers' license, so an urgent trip was made to the DMV the next day for a state ID card.) In the end, we decided to see Green Lantern in 3D. While I'm not a big superhero/comic book person, the special effects pretty much made the movie for me. Oh yeah, and Ryan Reynolds didn't hurt either!

This Sunday, kind of on a whim, I took the plunge and colored my hair for the first time! I was SO nervous to do it, but I love love love how it turned out!
I used Clairol Nice 'n Easy in shade 111, Natural Medium Auburn.

In conjunction with my (joyous!) return to blogging, I've decided to set a goal for myself: to get to 100 followers by the end of the summer (roughly 2.5 months). I got this idea from Sundresses and Smiles' goal of 300 followers in 3 months (which she achieved- go congratulate her!).
It's not that I want a lot of followers just to have a lot. I feel like setting this goal for myself will help stay more focused on my blog (like I have NOT been lately!) and also encourage and help me to discover new blogs- which is always a good thing!

Have a fabulous week!

Excuse My Absence/ Weekly Happenings

Hey Everyone!
Sorry for my little absence this past week. It's almost the end of the schol year (THREE weeks left!) and so many things are going on right now. Here's a little peek at what my week has been like:

  • Tuesday night, my dance studio's senior ballet company got together with one of our teachers to have a photo shoot! We did some pictures of us individually, and some that will be used in a group picture that we will the woman who is the leader of our company as well as the owner of the studio. She gives up so much time and energy for us, and we really wanted to do something to show our appreciation. The last company picture we took hangs inside the studio's front door, and was taken over 4 years ago, so it's time for an update! We had to wait until the last class of the day was over to use the studio to take the pictures, so we didn't end up getting started until about 9:30. When all was said and done, I didn't end up getting home until about 11:00, after which I had to shower and finish some homework. Not so great when you have class the next day, but a great time nonetheless!
  • On Wednesday, an American dynasty came to an end as ABC aired the final episode of the Oprah Winfrey Show. At 4 o'clock sharp, Mom and I sat down and tuned in to watch this momumental event. As Oprah reminisced on the shows past, I found myself getting strangely emotional. Oprah has been on TV all of my life, always airing at the exact same time. Whether watching it with my mom after elementary school or catching it on my own, the show has never failed to entertain, inform, and excite women (and men!) all across America and worldwide. Oprah's final episode proved to be a heartfelt testimony by Oprah of what the show has done for her, as well as for all of the viewers she reached. It was an excellent way to end a show that will most surely be missed!
  • Thursday night, I had my last audition ever for my dance studio's ballet company. I wasn't nervous about it since I've already reached my studio's highest level, but it was a little sad to get a glimpse of how it will be next year when this year's seniors are no longer there. I've danced with these girls for the past seven years, and it will be sad to see them go! Also, it was the first of the many "lasts" I will experience as I enter my senior year. I'm excited for it all to happen, but I won't be surprised if at times I find myself wishing it would go just a little bit slower!
  • For the past three weeks, I counted down the days until May 26th, when College Board would post scores from the May 7th SAT. Finally, Wednesday night came, and I could hardly contain how anxious I was. Before climbing into bed, I pulled up the College Board's website so that it'd be all ready to go check my scores in the morning, only to find that the release day for scores had been pushed back two days. Looking back, it was not a huge deal, but no doubt extremely frustrating. Because of the scores being delayed once, I of course wanted to check Friday night to make sure that the scores would indeed be available on Saturday morning, and that they had not been delayed again. Much to my surprise, the scores were already up! I quickly added up my 680 critical reading, 610 math, and 680 writing for a total score of 1970! My goal was to score a 1950, and I am proud to say that I exceeded that goal! I'm taking SATs again next weekend, and with more studying and review, I am hoping to break 2000!
I hope you all are having a fabulous Memorial day weekend!
